URL Path (Segments)

The Path

Once a machine and Site on that machine is selected, the Path defines what is being requested from the site. This is typically one or more segments separated by a slash (‘/’). ShofarNexus typically uses only one segment and occasionally two. They are defined as Seg1 and Seg2.

The nesting that is often done with slash characters is done with other methods in ShofarNexus. The primary reason for this is that when you have a path of “/a/b/c” and then save the file using a browser, the default name would be “c”. The same nesting occurs in ShofarNexus with “/a,b,c” and when the file is saved it will be “a,b,c”. An advantage can be seen in that a path of “/x/y/c” would be saved with the identical name of “c”, which “/x,y,c” would be uniquely identified as “x,y,c”.
