Layers are the group of Branches that are used by a Manifest to form the Response to a Request. Markup is used from Branches in the Layers by searching by Key typically starting from the Extension or Target Branch and proceeding to the bottom layer which is always the Program.Shofar site. The Layers are built by the following steps: 1: The Program.Shofar site is always the bottom Layer. 2: Template sites are added for the Target Site. 3: The Target Site is added. At this stage a complete list of sites exists that will be used for the remaining layers. 4: Each site is used to form additional layers while the site has related Branches. When a Site no longer has related Branches it is no longer searched but the added Branches remain. Additional Layers start with the Service and continue with each Branch until the Target is found. The Target Branch may be on the Target site or any other site in the Layers. With Permission, the Layers can be viewed for a given Target by using the “.Manifest,Layer” extension. |
